House Prices On the Rise Sheffield

Sheffield House Prices Are On The Rise

House prices in Sheffield have increased by two per cent in the first three months of the year – with the average price of a property in the city now costing £126,100.

Hometrack, which monitors property prices in the UK’s 20 biggest cities, said quarterly growth was at its strongest for 12 years in early 2016 – as the usual seasonal increase in housing market demand was boosted by investors ahead of changes to stamp duty.

Liverpool and London saw the fastest house price growth over the first quarter of 2016, both recording increases of 4.1 per cent. Sheffield’s increase was slightly lower than the 2.6 per cent rise in Leeds, where homes now cost an average £148,800, and Manchester, where properties rose by 2.5 per cent to £141,900.
